Three Ships Whisky 13YO Cape Ruby Finish

In celebrating the innovation and craft of South African Whiskies, the latest Masters Collection release marries the rich, complexity of the seasoned Cape Ruby casks with the Three Ships signature peat.

The whisky is brimming with sweet, nutty and red berry flavours, gentle smoke and the classic warm South African climate influence of exceptional smoothness and elegance.

Crafting & Maturation
Our Master Distiller, Andy Watts, matured the copper pot distilled malt spirit for eight years in a selection of American oak casks before releasing the whisky to Cape Ruby casks for five years. Visiting the spirit at regular intervals, he selected only five casks for the final single malt. Presented in its most natural form, the whisky is non-chillfiltered and natural in colour.  

Tasting Notes

Colour: Rich red, gold, and auburn.

Nose: Sweet, nutty aromas waft across the nose, interlaced with warm nuances of smoke, old leather, and just a hint of tobacco.

Taste: Full and rich palate, with flavours of red berries, Christmas fruitcake, and toffee, a honeyed sweetness ending with a warm finish.
